Discover the Candy Palace museums

During your stay at the 5-star Les Bois du Châtelas campsite, don’t forget to visit Montélimar to learn all about nougat and French sweets. Around 40 kilometers from the campsite, you can visit the Drôme’s third-largest tourist attraction and fall back into childhood. The Palais des Bonbons, Nougat and Souvenirs museums await you!

The Palais des Bonbons and the Fabrique Artisanale de Nougat are the historic museums of this magnificent tourist site, before others were created over the years. Because sweets are universal memories, you can enjoy a nostalgic retro stroll around the theme of childhood and memories!

Open from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. during school vacations, the Palais teaches you all you need to know about sugar and the history of sweets. It’s the ideal place to find out everything you need to know about the taste of sugar, its place in daily consumption and balanced nutrition, and its use in art and film!

The Palais takes you back to your childhood with vintage candies, a film retracing 50 years of candy advertising, exhibitions on chocolate, honey, lemonade and the world of Canadian maple, and a whole host of tastings. In 2024, the great new feature of the Palais is the Bonbec Village, a veritable work of art to be admired in an enchanted universe! World-famous since the 18th century, Montélimar nougat is also a must. At the Fabrique Artisanale de Nougat, you can watch the master nougat-maker work it by hand and bake it in a cauldron, to learn all about the secrets of making this pure delight. Open to the public, the official Palais boutique lets you take home tasty souvenirs.

As the years go by, Le Palais welcomes new museums, always on the theme of childhood and remembrance, to further develop your nostalgic immersion!

You can also visit the Maison des Jouets, the Provence of Pagnols in santons, the Musée de la Nationale 7, the Monde des Poupées et des Poupons and the Ecole d’autrefois. Discover and rediscover toys of yesterday and today over several decades, as well as the history of the mythical Nationale 7 road and Montélimar, the 450 rooms of the miniature Provencal village, Mémé Maryvonne’s 330 dolls and a typical classroom from days gone by!

For the enjoyment of children under 12, Badaboum, a huge 950 m² indoor playground, welcomes them with over 60 games and activities.
